CYDI Learn & Earn Overview

Community Youth Development Institute High School (CYDI) offers work based learning for all students and a unique opportunity to learn and earn money while enrolled at CYDI. Students have multiple opportunities to receive employment during the summer as well as academic year and training with curriculum job readiness. The program is designed to improve options for CYDI students, to better prepare them for college and career, to create a seamless curriculum between high school and college, and to provide work-based learning experiences to all our students

The Learn and Earn Program provides youth program participants with an opportunity to strengthen their ability to become self-sufficient and responsible through a series of basic life and job skills trainings that will benefit them in a variety of life settings. The goal of the CYDI Learn and Earn Program is to enable youth to see themselves as respected, successful, contributing members of the community and workforce with strong goals for their future.

I’m Ready To Learn & Earn

The program introduces students to a variety of new skills and tools they can use in careers in growing industries and career fields. The student, with the help of a staff advisor and employer partner, will design an onsite experience that reflects their career interests.  Many students don’t know the viable career options without college.  Our career pathways and the Earn-To-Learn program allows students to enter the world of work debt-free.  There is a dire need for our program that connects youth with training, employment opportunities, and wraparound services. This program is a critical component of helping our youth access local career fields with relatively low barriers for entry and the opportunities to make money faster.
